as summer shifts

The sun has started to make her shift in the sky. As I water my garden early morning I can feel the warmth of the sun coming from a slightly different angle, can taste the moisture seeping into the dawn air.

And with the gentle pulling to of this door comes the approaching sound of the excitement of new beginnings. Let us open our hearts and welcome the fall in all her vibrancy, letting in the opportunities of the new season.

Kyoto cat

On August 14th we said goodbye to darling Kyoto. Kiki came to us in August 1987. She was rescued from a dumpster and fit in the palm of my hand. She was the littlest button cat and the last of the original group of three – Miss Ng, Edo Bamboo and Kyoto.

Theodore is doing his best to be the only button cat but so misses his adored little Kik.

Kyoto was tiny but has left a huge hole. We miss her every day.
