Having Fun

I like to list fundraisers, performances, and special events in the right column of my blog and today I am happy to announce and be part of a fundraiser for the Hot Jazz Club Society.
Come out and support the Society November 6th, with an evening of dance and entertainment. Bellydance will be one of the dances showcased at this event, and our troupe Ala Nar will be performing a new choreography.
Ala Nar will also be performing at the Hot Jazz Club on November 25th at Venus' Boogie Night. Bring your shimmy and your boyz and dance to pop and techno toonz with DJ Venus. The first Boogie Night earlier this fall was a big hit.
The Hot Jazz Club is at 2120 Main St., (@ 6th), Vancouver. See you there!

Bazaar

Wondering where to find belly dance costumes and supplies? The MEDA bazaar is the place. The bazaar will be held both days during the Aziza workshop – October 22nd and 23rd, approximately 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The bazaar is open to everyone, not just workshop participants. Come with cash in hand to the Firefighter’s Social Club, 6515 Bonsor Avenue, Burnaby and prepared to be dazzled! (And to walk away with something new.)

Workshop with Aziza

MEDA presents a weekend workshop with Aziza , an outstanding Oriental dance performer and instructor. “Aziza has that rare combination of technical talent and precise understanding of her role as performer…..her dance (is) a joyous celebration of the essence of woman – woman in all her beauty, elegance, power, and yes, her sexuality, which is the secret of our power.”

MEDA Show

Every fall MEDA (Middle Eastern Dance Association) presents a gala show, featuring local and visiting middle eastern dance artists. Catch Ala Nar as part of the lineup on October 22nd at this not to be missed show at the James Cowan Theatre. Contact MEDA for ticket information.

I am now teaching bellydance at Yoga on 7th, 156 East 7th Avenue. Come and join us in this beautiful heritage building at the Main Street divide. Drop ins are welcome.
